About Anna Frost
Anna loves and understands the science — but believes great training has to live in your heart. It has to be interesting, fulfilling, and something you genuinely love.
Her career
Anna Frost is a professional trail, ultra, and mountain runner with over 20 years of international racing experience. Since 2004, she has raced across every terrain and distance imaginable — stage races, vertical kilometers, and everything up to 100 miles. She has known wins and DNFs, injury and fatigue, and has grown through all of it into a more rounded, complete, and efficient athlete and person. Running, she believes, is what she does — not who she is.
Her Background
Anna grew up competing in field hockey, rowing, touch rugby, cross-country running, triathlon, and adventure racing. She went on to study Physical Education at Otago University — covering personal training, coaching, biomechanics, anatomy, sports psychology, and nutrition — and followed that with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Teaching. She then went to Europe to take on the mountain and trail running world, beginning an international career that has taken her to every corner of the globe.
Her Coaching Approach
Anna's coaching centres on self-awareness — learning to read, listen to, and react to your own body. She has concentrated on balanced living, hormone health, nutrition, lifestyle, relationships, and compassion, and brings all of that into her work with athletes. She loves and understands the science, and will work with each athlete to find their best motivation, direction, and goals in whatever way suits them best. Training has to be interesting and fulfilling — you have to love the journey.

Anna coaches runners of all ages and all levels — beginners aiming to complete their first race, intermediate runners building mileage safely and progressively, and competitive athletes training for a specific race or goal. As long as you are up for the challenge, she is keen to meet you halfway. Anna is also a mother, and understands better than most how to build training around the full demands of real life.
